Disaster Services
We provide shelter, food and clothing to victims of disasters (i.e.
fires and floods). Our trained team responds to local, as well as national
disasters.
Transportation
Our transportation department makes over 10,000 trips a year
driving residents over age 60 to supermarkets, medical
appointments, physical therapy, radiation and dialysis treatments.
Also, service is available to those Montclair, Glen Ridge and
Nutley residents under age 60 to Mountainside Hospital medical
clinics and services by referral from the hospital or other agency.
Armed Forces Emergency Services
In the event of serious illness, death or birth, we help families
get in touch with their
relatives in the military. Through a comprehensive global communications
network, we help to locate, reunite and exchange messages between
people separated from their loved ones because of war, civil
disturbance or natural disaster.
Shopping for Shut-Ins
Red Cross volunteers shop weekly for many homebound residents.
Perhaps you know someone who is in need of our help.
Loan Closet
Residents who need canes, crutches, commodes, walkers and wheelchairs
may borrow from our well-stocked loan closet.
Youth Services
We offer young people an opportunity to serve
the community in existing programs and special
youth developed projects.

International Services
Our Chapter is a link to the International Red Cross
Movement which is dedicated to protecting human life world
wide. We provide communications between loved ones when war, upheaval
and natural disaster disrupt normal communication lines.
Through the International Red Cross Movement, the American Red Cross
provides financial assistance to purchase goods and services
to victims of armed conflict and natural disasters. The American
Red Cross also provides Holocaust tracing services to families
that were separated during World War II.
